Hanfod Cymru has opened its doors to applications from charities from across Wales for small grants of up to £10,000. The applications can be for projects or activities taking place in the areas of culture and art, education or social welfare. The application for a grant can be for any activity within these areas, as long as it is beyond the statutory field.
Speaking today, Hanfod Cymru Chief Executive, Siôn Brynach, said:
“We were amazed by the number and high quality of the applications we received in the first round of applications for grants, back in the spring. We very much hope that this second round will attract applications of the same standard.
“Charities have until Sunday 8th October to present an application, and the announcement regarding which charities the Hanfod Cymru Board wish to support will be published at the end of November. I hope that this announcement will be an early Christmas present for a number of charities from all parts of Wales.”
A minimum of 20% of Loteri Cymru gross ticket sale proceeds is being channelled to good causes in Wales through the charity. Hanfod Cymru is constituted as an independent charity, with its own Board of Trustees, which operates independently of Loteri Cymru, which oversees the weekly draw.
