Wales’ new national charitable fund, Hanfod Cymru, which distributes the money raised for good causes by Loteri Cymru, has appointed Marc Phillips as its interim Chief Executive Officer.
Having worked in charities and community development both as a practitioner and as a grant maker, Marc brings over 40 years’ experience and knowledge to ensure that Hanfod Cymru’s remit is fulfilled and achieves its aims.
Marc has been one of the key personnel in setting up Hanfod Cymru, from setting the criteria for each of the grants that will be made available for communities to apply for, to setting the levels of funding within each one and to appointing a Board of Trustees.
Most recently, Marc was Head of Policy for BBC Children in Need, and has previously held leadership roles in Tenovus, Dyfed Association of Voluntary Services and the Urdd. He will shortly be recruiting a more permanent staff team to take Hanfod Cymru forward.
